This week we discuss why people make the best kinds of decisions for themselves and for the people around them when they are fully occupying their body, when they as fully aware of their bodies as possible, which means they are aware of their emotional reactions, which always starts as a body something.
So a good therapist can begin to gently restore some of that proprioception, some of that movement, and create more sliding between those layers, and start turning that pain signal from the sensory nerves down. Over time that will begin to remodel the tissue to restore mobility, proprioception and good posture along with providing the information on how to restore this process more efficiently in the future.
Ideally we want to approach the perfection of a tensegrity model: in terms of resilience, responsiveness, flow, communication, uniformity, strength, balance, mobility, and the ability to perfectly absorb and distribute any force introduced into the system so as to maintain the integrity of the tensegrity.

People make the best kinds of decisions for themselves and for the people around them when they are fully occupying their body, to be as fully aware of their bodies as possible, which means they are aware of their emotional reactions, which always starts as a body something.
One of the great things about working with fascia is that because of the sensory nerves it has the capacity, it has the potential to create greater awareness and a more embodied experience of yourself, and that to me is the special quality that you can cultivate and carry it with you in everything else that you do.
At AdaptiveBodywork we are not symptom oriented. Come and tell us your symptoms, tell us your history, absolutely, we’ll take the whole thing. We are interested in lifting your system to another level. Maybe your symptoms go away and maybe they don’t go away, but you move to the next level, and the next chapter of your life, in your bodily life and sometimes your emotional and spiritual life as well.
It’s a great journey to go into the body, and it’s one we have neglected in terms of just training or just stretching or just foam rolling, and exploring the inside and getting ourselves more tuned to ourselves is the way out of pain for most people.
AdaptiveBodywork connects the dots of your neurological fabric, eliminates unnecessary compensations, remaps your body image and proprioception, reestablishes body wide communication, hydration and flow, and leaves you with a heightened sense of awareness and a unique window of opportunity to reprogram all future movement behaviours in an optimally resilient and responsive fashion.
The more aware you are, the more you are able to handle the problem, whatever it is. Even if you can’t sort it out, it’s a broken ligament, it’s a surgery that you had. There are things that are unrepairable, but they are livable with. So my job as an Adaptive Bodywork systems person is not necessarily to fix the problem, but to figure out what all the aspects of the problem are, and then figure out how we can mange that best.
